Image boot from all new HP 470 (exemple g8)

Hello everyone,
for a few years I have been using ACRONIS or AOMEI software to create images (bootable usb) and deploy HP massively. For some time now I have encountered difficulties in achieving this. First Acronis 2018 is no longer recognized in UEFI boot then ACRONIS 2021 no longer recognizes NVME SSD disks ... Then recently AOMEI no longer recognizes 4096 bytes sector disks ... I'm sick of it ... There are do you want to stop using this type of image creation or is there still a solution?

Hi, Seb:

For any PC no matter who makes them, that comes with an Intel 11th gen core processor, such as the 470 G8, you need to install the specific drive controller driver in order for W10 to see the drive.

See the info at the link below and if you can somehow put the drivers in the F6 folder of the RST driver file in your Acronis or Aomie software image, then you should be good to go.

There is something that I don't understand in that document, and that is where HP tells you to right click on the Intel driver file and select Extract to

When I ran through the steps, I don't get an Extract to option when I right click on the file.

So, if you have the same issue, download and install the free 7-zip file utility from the link below.

The 2nd file at the top of the page is for 64 bit.

7-Zip (7-zip.org)

Then you can right click on the exe file, select 7-Zip from the menu, and select Extract to: and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp111776), and copy that folder to your USB flash drive, and continue with the instructions.

Otherwise you will need to make a new image from the currently installed W10 configuration, or clean install W10 and custom build a new image.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your very detailed technical information.I made the Windows 10 boot key.
I extracted the folder contained in the executable (sp111660.exe, like you I needed 7-zip to do it)
on my windows 10 boot key.

at boot, I did the steps until I went through the key and I installed the 2 drivers
INTEL RST VMD controller 9A0b
INTEL RST VMD manager Controller 09AB

Once this operation, I restarted the computer to boot on my acronis 2021 key
unfortunately still the same I do not see the NVMe disk ...

I checked the 450 G8 support page, and HP has a different version of the driver listed there.

You may want to try that one instead using the same method.

You may want to try clean installing W10 on the drive using the above method without using the Acronis software and see if that works.

Hi Paul,

when I loaded the 1st drivers sp111660 (> F6> iaStorVD.inf),
I hadn't seen that my NVMe disk had just appeared just after loading this driver specifically !
I could finally see my disks and reinstall a windows as I want.

So, with AOMEI (but not with ACRONIS) I was able to solve my problem by additionally loading this driver in a new bootable usb key (AOMEI 6.6.0 standard)
in tools> create a bootable media> WinPE> add a driver> iaStorVD.inf > then add my new boot key

It works !!
