Hi @Indiana11,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

If you've installed a new hard drive in your HP ENVY 15 Notebook and are encountering a "can't find bootup" error after using backup disks, it's likely due to the absence of an operating system on the new hard drive.

Here's what you can do:

Check Backup Disks: Ensure that the backup disks contain the necessary files for booting up the system. Sometimes, backups might not include the operating system itself.

Install Operating System: If the new hard drive is blank, you'll need to install an operating system on it. You can do this using an operating system installation disk (like Windows installation media) or a bootable USB drive containing the OS installation files.

Boot from Installation Media: Insert the installation disk or plug in the bootable USB drive and restart the laptop. Enter the BIOS or boot menu during startup (usually by pressing a specific key like F2, F10, F12, or ESC) and select the installation media as the boot device.

Follow Installation Instructions: Once the installation process begins, follow the on-screen instructions to install the operating system on the new hard drive.

Complete Installation: After the OS installation is complete, remove the installation media and restart the laptop. It should now boot from the newly installed operating system on the new hard drive.

If you encounter any difficulties during the installation process or if the backup disks seem to be incomplete, it might be helpful to reach out to HP support for further assistance or acquire a full installation or recovery disk compatible with your HP ENVY 15 Notebook.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
