I see other vendors releasing ME updates. When does HP expect to ship updates? To see if your system is vulnerable download this tool from Intel  . It would be nice to have something BEFORE Positive Technologies presents the details on how to hack the ME during the December Blackhat conference. This has been out there since August.... Thx in advance

I contacted HP support the team did not see anything yet available. I checked directlt with Intel Driver & Support Assistant nothing their either. So early days on this I guess.

Success. The Intel vulnerability tool now indicates the issue has been patched! THANK YOU!

 

observations:

 

a) The update is not yet available via the "HP Support Assistant" application

b) However it is available on the HP support web page for my HP laptop dated 11/17/2017. Yet it was not visable on 11/17

c) the update is not yet available from "intel driver and Support Assistant"

d) The ME version 11.7.0.1043 that is being loaded [according to the log file] displays as 11.8.50.3399 in the Intel-SA-00086 detection tool

e) The HP wrapper for the Intel load is version 1.00

 

While all of this is interesting it is not material........    Thank you agian
