Hi.
My laptop is
HP Pavilion dm4-3107tx Beats Edition Entertainment Notebook PC. I tried installing its graphics drivers from this link:
but I couldn't install the intel graphics. It says that the laptop does not meet the minimum requirements of the graphics driver.
I also tried installing AMD and it did. But everytime I reboot, the Windows startup gets stuck.
I also noticed it resulting to the stuck startup when I just recently updated my Windows including the update for the intel driver which I have not yet installed (because I know that once I did, I would have to do a lot of recovery and repair to the opearting system for the nth time).
And now I really feel stressed over this because I have been formatting my laptop for the second time, and the last time was with the update of the intel driver. I was back at the stuck startup again and I really had enough of it.
I really need help with this.
Do I have to install ALL the drivers in the link before installing the graphic drivers to make sure that the graphics drivers will install?

Hi @katrinahahaha,
Thank you for your query.
I understand that you are having an issue installing your graphic drivers. After formatting the drive and installing the Intel graphic driver you have a startup issue. Did you use the Recovery Manger to format and reinstall Windows 7?
You only need to install the AMD driver from the HP driver page as it contains both drivers. Please try this process:
- Uninstall and delete both the graphic drivers
- Restart your notebook
- Run the HP Support Assistant to aid with finding and installing the graphic drivers
- Alternatively after uninstalling, deleting driver and restarting, download and install just the AMD driver.
If this issue remains, try deleting both drivers and using the Recovery Manager to install the drivers:
HP PCs - Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7)
Please let me know the outcome.

Oh okay. I didn't know that about AMD. Thanks for your reply!
Your solution is kinda similar to what I did. I updated the two standard vga drivers from the device manager. But only the amd was updated. (Just like you said and i think i did this during the safe mode???)
Then i installed the drivers based on the chronological order on the link. The laptop restarted several times then the windows suddenly updated... And for a few times, I had to restart the windows manually because it was getting stuck at startup again.
I wasn't sure if the intel graphics driver was included with the update but when i installed another drive from the link, it says that the windows was successfully installed after restarting. I also experienced blue screen once but i wasn't sure if this was during my latest installation.
And so far, my laptop's doing fine now... Although I still keep fearing that the screen will suddenly turn black and not recover its contents.
But I also experienced updating the driver before using the HP Support Assistant and it worked but i forgot about it until your post. Lol

Hi @katrinahahaha,
Thank you for your reply.
The AMD driver from HP does include both drivers and you should not have needed to install the Intel driver separately.
As you stated your notebook is working fine now, would you consider marking my reply as "Accepted Solution" to aid others who may have the same difficulty. To say thanks for helping, please click the "Thumbs Up Icon" below.

Hi @katrinahahaha,
It is unfortunate that the issue has returned. Would you try uninstalling and deleting both drivers again. Restart your notebook and just install the AMD driver as it has both.
Please keep me updated.

Thanks again for the help. Before I follow your instruction, it took me some time to repair and restore my WIndows 7. Blue screen appeared twice.
Then I uninstalled Intel from Device Manager using Safe Mode then restart for a few times using F8-Start Windows Manually. It suddenly passed through the startup then back to the last restore point. It's now working fine.
But is there anyway I can avoid it to happen again? Months before, my screen would lose its display, turn black, then return the display on screen. Then a bubble would say that the display driver AMD has stopped and has recovered, or something like that. Then the screen would freeze when I am using Google Chrome mostly so I would have to restart my laptop. That's when my laptop started freezing at startup.
I wonder why it occurs. Is there a problem with ny of my laptop's hardwares? Or is it because of the updates I did with Windows that the graphics driver updates were not compatible with it?

HI @katrinahahaha,
Thank you for your update!
I am glad you are back up and running. You should only install HP recommended updates and Windows updates for the computer. If you install an updated driver from the manufacturer's site it may not be entirely compatible and can cause issue. HP may alter a specific driver so that it does work correctly which the manufacturers would not do. As all is working well, I suggest you create a restore point for future use, should an issue arrive.
Should something occur and you would like assistance, please do not hesitate to post your difficulty as we will do our best to help.

Hello, @015MEDIAHOUSE
Thanks for reaching out! I'd like to help 🙂
To assist you better, I need to know the product number or model number of your HP product. If unsure, please check: http://hp.care/2oPCMBG
Also, update the AMD drivers using the AMD driver update utility. Go to AMD Drivers and Support | AMD to download and use the AMD driver update utility.
Once the drivers are installed, restart the PC and then check for issue resolution.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Good luck 🙂
