pavilion dv6 notebook pc
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi we have a hp pavilions dvds notebook that we are getting a startup message that the internal battery has a low percentage left. primary internal 601.... I read thru some of the forum questions and saw to check the battery status which I did and it said failed it doesnt give a percentage amount....The laptop is old and we dont really want to invest in a new battery.  Can the laptop be run on electrical power or will the laptop eventually shut down and never work again? ..... I'm not a techie so respond in simple terms please and thanks 🙂 also the operating system is a microsoft window 7 but I'm not sure if it is 64 bit or not Thank you

Hi,

You're welcome :generic:

Yes, I mean the electrical power supply.

Hi,

The error 'Primary (internal) Battery (601)' does indicate that your notebooks main battery is showing signs of wear and typically occurs when the storage capacity has fallen below 25% of its original value.

There's no problem with running the notebook just on the mains power supply.
