HP Recommended

I recently got this new HP Laptop 15 with 16 GB of RAM, 1 TB SSD, and an AMD Ryzen 5. Why is the idle memory usage so high? How can I lower this? This was the same RAM usage I used to have with a laptop that had 4 GB of RAM and 256 of SSD... My laptop also begins to overheat, and the fan turns on when I use Microsoft Edge. Can anyone give me some tips on what I can do so my computer doesn't melt while simply loading YT videos on one tab lol
