Hi  @Madaki28,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I hear your concern that your HP computer is displaying a "Boot Device Not Found" error and is unable to start, don’t worry let me help you with this.

Could you kindly confirm the below details :

  • The exact HP model number of your computer (Link for steps to find the product number - click here )
  • Do you hear any unusual noises from the hard drive or SSD?
  • Are you seeing any additional error messages or codes, such as Hard Disk (3F0)?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

  1. Perform a Hard Reset (Link for steps - click here )
    • Turn off the computer.
    • Disconnect the charger and all external devices.
    • If the battery is removable, remove it.
    • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
    • Reconnect power and try starting the computer again.
  2. Check if the Drive is Detected in BIOS
    • Turn on the PC and repeatedly tap F10 to enter BIOS.
    • Navigate to System Information or Storage.
    • Verify whether the internal SSD/HDD is detected.
  3. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (Link for steps - click here )
    • Power off the computer.
    • Turn it back on and repeatedly press F2.
    • Run the Storage Test or Hard Drive Test.
    • Please share any failure ID or test results displayed.
  4. Restore BIOS Defaults (Link for steps - click here )
    • Enter BIOS using F10.
    • Select Restore Defaults or Load Setup Defaults.
    • Save changes and restart.
  5. Verify the Boot Order
    • Ensure the internal SSD/HDD is listed as the primary boot device.
    • Save changes and restart the system.

Additionally, HP has published a detailed troubleshooting guide for Hard Disk (3F0) / Boot Device Not Found errors that you may find helpful - Click here

This document covers common causes, BIOS checks, hardware diagnostics, and recovery options that may help resolve the issue.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
