Hi @Aga00

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how unsettling it must feel to see your notebook suddenly stop working with a black screen and the “Boot Device Not Found (3F0)” message. Thank you for already checking the QR code and trying the instructions—your effort is appreciated.

Let’s walk through some clear steps together to bring your system back to life:

Step 1: Run System Diagnostics

Since you already noticed the F2 option:

  1. Power on the notebook and immediately press F2 repeatedly.
  2. Select System Diagnostics.
  3. Run the Hard Drive Test and Memory Test.
    • If the hard drive test fails, note down the failure ID—it’s important for further action.

Step 2: Check Boot Order in BIOS

  1. Restart the notebook and press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
  2. Press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
  3. Go to the System Configuration or Boot Options tab.
  4. Ensure the internal hard drive is listed first in the boot order.
  5. Save changes and exit.

Step 3: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Power off the notebook completely.
  2. Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  3. Hold down the Power button for about 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the battery and adapter, then power on again.

Step 4: Use Windows Recovery

If the hard drive is detected but Windows won’t load:

  1. Turn on the notebook and press Esc, then F11 for System Recovery.
  2. Follow the on‑screen instructions to attempt recovery.

Step 5: Helpful HP Resource

For detailed guidance, you can refer to HP’s official support article here:
HP PCs - Hard disk 3F0 boot device not found error | HP® Support

These steps should help determine whether the issue is with the boot configuration or the hard drive itself. If diagnostics confirm a hardware failure, you’ll have the information needed to decide the next step.
