Hello
I bought this laptop with model 15-da1002ne on 29th April and started the laptop on 30th Night. Laptop was started without internet so set was quick and everything seems normal. However, today (1st May) morning when I started the laptop and connected with my home internet (wifi), I was prompted for BIOS update and I confirmed. System started the update with updated and everything went well till 955/4096 Block (23%), there after, updates just dont progress and its over 5 hours now and system is still at 955/4096 Block (23%). I tried holding power button for 15 second for force shutdown, it dont work. Checked online help, HP website, etc., found to hold power button for 15 secs somewhere and 40 somewhere else. Tried all means and system dont turn off. Batter is not removable, so I dont have that option as well.
Please advise what could be the problem and how can I overcome

@Rafeeque1 Here's what you need to know & do:
The common causes for the error:
- Malware / Virus attack
- Damaged Windows Registry files
- Unwanted file in USB Drive
- Damaged System files
- Issue with the Flash Drive
Best fixes are listed below:
Step 1: Firstly, press Windows + R keys together to open the Run box. In the Run box that opens, type “msconfig” and click on OK.
Step 2: In the new window that opens, click on Selective Startup option in the General tab. Also, deselect the Load startup items check box.
Step 3: Now, go to the Services tab. Here, at the bottom of the window, you will find a checkbox for Hide all Microsoft services, select that. Then, click on the Disable All option.
Step 4: Click on the Startup tab now, and right-click on each enabled start-up item and select Disable option, and then click on the Ok button.
When done, restart your PC. After the Restart, see if you are still getting the USB error “Specified module could not be found“. If your USB device did not show any error, it means, the issue was with some of the startup programs. You will need to figure out if any suspicious program is messing up with the USB. If you want, you can keep the startup programs disabled and keep using PC in clean boot mode.
Whether Clean boot did fix the issue or not, you will need to restore your system back to normal through the following steps:
Step 1: Reopen the System Configuration window as you did above. Go to the General tab, and there select Normal startup option.
Step 2: Go to the Services tab and clear the Hide all Microsoft services check box. After that, click on ‘Enable All’ option.
Step 3: Again, click on the Startup tab and then, Enable all your startup programs by selecting them. Then, click Ok to apply the settings.
When done, Restart your PC.
Note: Do not forget to ‘Disable All’ in troubleshooting and ‘Enable All’ during restoration, or you will end up losing some really important OS functions.

@mreissa I suggest you create a new user account and check if that helps: click here to find how its done,
if nothing else, please try a BIOS recovery using the steps mentioned here and let me know how that goes.

Same issue as you and Rafeek1...Windows 10 machine just out of the box; prompted to up date BIOS and good luck with that...see we are all new members doing our nut looking for support ...nothing doing here. This sounds like a bug and a sh1tty one too! Did you ever get any joy with this issue? Ta much. B
