Hi @Jamie219
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your laptop is stuck in a frustrating "automatic repair loop." This can happen for various reasons, such as corrupted system files or a problem with the hard drive. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Hold down the power button until the laptop shuts off completely.
- Turn it back on and check if the issue persists.
2. Boot into Safe Mode
- Turn off the laptop and then turn it back on while continuously pressing the F8 or Shift + F8 key (depending on the device).
- Select Safe Mode with Networking if prompted.
- Once in Safe Mode, you can run System Restore or check for corrupted files.
3. Run Startup Repair
- When the laptop restarts, repeatedly press the F11 key to access recovery options.
- Select Advanced Options, then Startup Repair, and follow the instructions.
4. Check for Disk Errors
- If you can access Command Prompt (through Advanced Options > Command Prompt), type chkdsk /r and hit Enter. This scans and attempts to repair disk errors.
5. Perform a System Restore
- If System Restore points are available, you can restore your system to a previous working state. This option is found in the Advanced Options menu.
6. Reset the Laptop
- If none of the above works, consider a factory reset. This will erase all files and settings but can resolve persistent issues:
- Go to Advanced Options > Reset this PC.
- Choose to keep or remove your personal files and follow the steps to reset.
