HP Notebook 14-dq1035cl

My son placed his laptop, which was powered off on his desk. We heard a loud 'pop' sound and our smoke detector began to ring.  The room was filled with smoke and the laptop began melting as well as the desk it was on top off.  Looks like one of the battery cells caught fire.  The laptop was not plugged into a power cord.  Please help,
