My system is showing the following on the screen:

'hard Disk Error

Please run the Hard Disk Test in System Diagnostics.

Hard Disk 1 (3F1)

F2 System Diagnostics

I tried to press f2 and follow the instructions it displayed inter alia 'Hard Disk 1 Fault'

I have an HP 2000 running windows 8 I updated to 8.1 and when I did I got a blue screen with a system error avgboota.sys can not restart, cannot restore either. I donot have a hard disc only the firmwear. I have tried different things I am frustrated and need my laptop back please can someone help me

Sounds like the hard drive has failed and will need to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If not a retail laptop SATA hard drive can be used. Just be sure to get one of at least equal capacity as the original in order to use Recovery Discs. It can be larger, but not smaller capacity.For instance if you have a 500GB hdd you could use a 750GB hdd but not a 320GB hdd.

My pavilion g7 will not start up.... Keeps saying press ESC to start up menu...then when I do...it makes a loop long loud beeping noise..then gibes me a start up menu..been thru them all...don't know which one to do? Can you help me?
