You're going to have to get access to another Windows PC to create the installation media.

Hi:

You need to have the PC plugged into A/C power when factory resetting it.

What is the full model number or product number of the notebook?

Use this guide to find that information...

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108

Do you know what operating system it originally came with from HP?

I had it plugged into the A/C power supply while i did this and no not a clue when i went to FR it had windows 10 as a selection so i assumed that's what it's default was and as for the product number it is N5Y24UA#ABA

OK, if the recovery doesn't work, then your only other options would be to clean install W10 by creating a bootable USB installation flash drive using the media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

When you get to the part of the installation where it asks 'Where do you want to install Windows,' delete every partition on the hard drive, leaving just one partition of unallocated space.   Click Next, and W10 should install.

After W10 installs, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

Or you can order factory recovery media from HP at the link below.  You will be charged for this.

Hi:

Get a USB flash drive.

Go to that media creation tool link and run the tool.

You want to select 'Create installation media for another PC.'

Select USB and W10 64 bit.

Then sit back and wait for the process to complete.

To boot from the USB flash drive, plug it into one of your new PC's USB ports.

Turn on the PC.  Immediately start tapping the ESC key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu, and from that, select the USB flash drive, and press the Enter key.

The PC should boot from the flash drive, and the installation process should begin.

Ok so i didn't get that far now it's loading up saying install is incomplete and to reset but it's saying disk is locked n unlock to reset could it be that when it shut off my Harddrive got curupted?

Unfortunately, I don't know what the problem could be.

Using the steps I have posted previously, if the hard drive isn't bad, you should have been able to reinstall W10.
