i have a HP Pavilion Laptop model 14-dv1629sa. My laptop overheated today and switched off. I’ve been trying to switch it on but the laptop keeps showing me the “Please wait” loading screen. After that It says that it will help me restart the laptop but then it goes back to the “Please wait” loading screen. I’ve tried holding the power button to switch it on and off but it shows “Preparing automatic repair”. I’ve even tried F11 but is not showing me the “System recovery”. It’s just been looping for the pass two hours.

Hi I tried all these steps but my laptop doesn’t take me to the blue troubleshoot menu. It just shows that it’s going to restart but it doesn’t. It’s always on a loop every time I switch it on. I can’t take the battery out because I don’t know how to and I also don’t have the tools. I’m not sure what is wrong with my laptop.

Hi @luceluu,
Thank you so much for letting me know, I really appreciate you trying all the steps so far.
I understand how frustrating this is when the laptop just stays stuck in a restart loop and won’t reach the blue recovery menu.
Let’s try a few more steps together:
Force a Hard Power Reset (Integrated Battery)
Since the battery is built-in:
Make sure the laptop is unplugged.
Hold the power button down continuously for at least 30–60 seconds.
(Hold it longer than usual, this sometimes forces a deeper power drain on laptops with sealed batteries.)
Plug the charger back in, then try powering it on again.
Try ESC + F2 (Diagnostics)
Power the laptop off completely.
Power it on and immediately tap the ESC key repeatedly, a Startup Menu should appear.
If you see this menu, press F2 to run the HP Hardware Diagnostics.
Run system tests and hard drive tests to check for damage from the overheating.
If your drive is damaged or corrupted, this will help confirm it.
Try Bootable Recovery USB
If the laptop won’t reach the Windows recovery menu on its own, you can create a Windows 11 installation USB on another computer:
On another working PC, visit Microsoft’s official page: Create Windows 11 Installation Media
Follow the instructions to make a bootable USB (you’ll need an empty USB drive, at least 8 GB).
Insert the USB into your laptop.
Power it on and press ESC repeatedly, then choose F9 Boot Device Options and select the USB.
When the Windows Setup screen appears, choose Repair your computer (bottom left) instead of installing Windows, this should bring up the recovery tools.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
