HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A while ago I posted a question about my laptop frequently shutting itself off into sleep mode, unable to start back up without using a hard reset.

The answer I received was that I could update the BIOS and graphic cards drivers. When I tried to update all my driver using the HP Support Assistant, I had to restart the system for the BIOS to update.

After the restart there was an information screen that I didn't have enough time for to read, since it switched to a black screen, where it has been stuck on for a while with fans spinning loudly. After consulting online I tried to switch it off, but the laptop stays on nevertheless.

What should I do?

Hi, thanks for the reply!

It happened after I tried to update everything using the HP Support Assistant. After it said it would update the bios, the screen went black and the fans were blowing hard. I was unable to shut off my laptop, so I briefly ejected the battery. After that it started back up like it used to.

But now I have the same problem I had before I tried to update the BIOS, which is the random shutdowns without indication or reason. It mostly happens when I touch my laptop, or plug something into the usb. The screen goes black, and the power button starts blinking, with no way to start it back up without hard resetting.

To my knowlegde it started to happen seemingly at random, not after an update.
