I am trying to log into https://hpf8edfcc1297d.local/#hId-pgNetworkSummary It asks me to enter my Pin Number but I can find no way of entering it. At the moment I cannot get my printer to print in colour and was hoping that this website would enable that.

Hi @DavidB2639,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that you are trying to log in to the network and are being asked to enter the PIN.

To fix your colour printing issue and bypass the PIN screen, you’ll first need to find and enter the factory-set PIN, which is typically printed on a sticker inside your printer’s ink cartridge access door.

Step 1: Finding your PIN

For security, HP sets a default PIN. To find it:

  1. Open the front door or the ink/toner cartridge access area of your printer.

  2. Look for a label attached to the cartridge tray or the inner wall.

  3. Note down the PIN or Password listed (often alongside the username admin).

Step 2: Entering the PIN

Since you are using a web-based portal to manage the printer settings:

  1. Close your current browser window and open a fresh, new window/tab to access https://hpf8edfcc1297d.local/#hId-pgNetworkSummary.

  2. If the page prompts for a username, type admin.

  3. Enter the PIN you found from the cartridge door and click Submit or Log In.

Step 3: Enabling Colour Printing

Once logged into the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  1. Navigate to the Settings or Tools tab.

  2. Look for Preferences, Printing Defaults, or Paper/Quality.

  3. Ensure the Color/Grayscale settings are adjusted to print in full color.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
