My laptop restarted without warning a number of times, following the blue error screen with the " : ( " face.
Usually, turning it off and on again a couple of times resolves the problem. Today it would not restart, only loading the black startup screen. I ran the scans and got the Long DST failure ID: 9U12SK-8TAA9G-MFPUQK-61E503.
It has now restarted - I'm using it to type this! Does anyone know what is happening to my computer?
Thank you!!

That error code means your drive is failing. It could last a week or more; it could die tomorrow -- no way to know. It needs to be replaced.
Once you have the replacement drive, read the information below about HP Could Recovery to be used to restore your PC to working condition:
If your PC is a 2016 model or newer, you should see if you can make a bootable USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool on a working PC.
The recovery drive can then be used to install Win10 and the HP drivers and utilities that originally came with your PC.
