@7down, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If someone else has changed the PIN on your HP 14-fq135cl laptop and you're now locked out, don’t worry, there are a few steps you can take to regain access:

Option 1: Reset PIN Using Microsoft Account

If your laptop is linked to a Microsoft account, you can reset the PIN online:

  1. Go to the Microsoft Account Recovery page.
  2. Follow the prompts to reset your account password.
  3. Once reset, restart your laptop and sign in using the new password.
  4. You can then set a new PIN via Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.

Option 2: Use Local Account Password (if applicable)

If you're using a local account (not a Microsoft account), and you don’t remember the password either, you’ll need to reset it using recovery tools.

Option 3: Perform a System Reset (if other options fail)

If you cannot recover the PIN or password, you may need to reset the PC. This will remove all personal files unless you choose the "Keep my files" option:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it back on and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
  3. Press F11 to open System Recovery.
  4. Choose Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
