HP Pavilion 14-n209ex TS

I am Indonesian. I bought the HP Pavilion TS 14 in Saudi in 2014. Now I am working in Kenya. Recently I had my hard disk broken and replaced. But I lost all the HP driver, but I manage to download from HP. The problem is the original installer for Windows 8 was lost also. Is it possible that I retrieved/download the original windows 8 from HP? Thank you.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Sorry, but I don't have very good news for you ...

The Win8 "installer" that you mentioned was actually the Recovery partition that was on the old drive.  It's not something that HP makes available for download and you can only obtain it by ordering HP Recovery Media.

The problem with that is that HP only ships that media to US and Canada addresses.  You can try contacting HP Customer Support locally to you and see if they will ship it to you:

Contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!

If HP no longer provides Recovery Media for your model, a couple of other sites you should check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

Before using the media, read through this: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00006110

Good Luck

Thank you for your prompt reply. I think it is fair. I just need to buy a new windows 10 license.

Thank you....

1-Really no need to buy a new license key.

 2-Microsoft offers the free Media creation tool to make your Windows 8.1 installation. You will not need a license key because it is embedded in BIOS and should be retrieved automatically. On the screen that asks for key select Skip or whatever option there is:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8

 3-If you have previously upgraded to Windows 10 you can also use the Media creation tool to make a Windows 10 installation-no license key needed-select Skip:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
