When I run system diagnostic tool-Memory Test in QUICK mode, I receive an error message which basically says that test failed

Failure ID: 9C0BHT-80JA74-MFPX7F-40LL03

What does this failure ID refer to?

Hi:

The error code reported, Memory Module 2 Failure, means the memory module in memory slot 2 has failed and needs to be replaced.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the memory removal and replacement procedure.

Did you add memory to your notebook, because the specs indicate it originally came with 1 x 8 GB of memory from HP, and the memory should have been installed in slot 1 if there is only one memory module.

No i haven't replaced memory even for once.

If your notebook is not booting up, you will need to replace the defective memory module.

When a notebook has two memory slots like yours, the memory usually goes into slot one, and additional memory goes into slot 2.
