Hi Thibaud
Just a friendly reminder for the BIOS Version, and other information if you have. 🙂
We use win 10 enterprise 1909 64-bit. We have spent days with HP on this support case, since they say we are the only customer having this and because we have an own customized image, which 100 % of all other companies have, too..
Thank you in advance,
SR

Hi LoganIT
It seems we finally could solve the issue. I also tried FeatureUpgrade to 2004 and all Microsoft Updates from Windows Update which did not help.
HP found out that we hat a device (driver) installed on the Elitebook 840 G7 called "Synaptics SMBus Driver" .
I checked our driver repository and it seems HP has published this driver in summer 2020, but then removed after at least by mid of August. I had downloaded this driver on the HP EB 840 G7 drivers web page, but now this SP105596.exe is nowhere in the drivers page.
Also when you go to HP FTP repository you will find the CVA or HTML where the corresponding system(s) is only an "HP 15 Omen laptop" , consumer device.
Disabling or removing the device (then also remove driver from driver store) would help, but not confirmed by HP yet.
