Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

My Notebook runs and boots fine, but I can no longer re-install the operating system from the USB installation media (I used the same installation media before, and had no problem with it).

 

At the Start Menu this will always happen:

1) After pressing F11, I will always get the same blue screen error message:

"Your PC needs to be repaired. A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed. Error 0xc0000225."

 

2) After pressing F9, only two options appear (USB option is missing):

OS Manager

Boot From EFI File

 

At the blue screen error Menu:

After pressing F8 for startup setting, the blue screen persists (it just blinks once).

 

I did a comprehensive system test, and all componenets (including HDD) PASSED.

Absolutely  stunning stuff that you managed to perform the complete diagnostics and checked in F9 the options that show up for boot and also diagnose that the computer is working fine. It is a genuine pleasure to work with a customer of your technical expertise. We definitely value your relation with HP and it is a privilege to share this platform with you.

 

First off, Please try these steps.

First, perform a hard reset. Then update the  bios,chipset drivers and graphic drivers from this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-Notebook-PC-series/6875200/model/7146395

 

Then visit these links for further assistance.

Please do not click on any ads anywhere as these are third party links and shows you how to disable secure boot. To go to the bios on your computer you need to keep tapping the F10 key as soon as you power on the machine.

Thank you very much DavidSMP. Your solution solved my problem.

After updating  BIOS, Chipset, and Graphics, my USB installation media appeared in the F9 Boot Menu Options. As a result, I am able to re-install my operation system. Thanks again.
