Hello!

I recently had to reinstall Windows because of some instability. The previous problems were solved, but now I'm experiencing new errors! I'm first trying to install all of the correct drivers, but there are two I can't find because the devices are unknown.

They are both located under Other Devices in Device Manager.

1.  PCI Device - PCI Bus 2, device 0, function 0. \VEN_10EC&DEV_522A&SUBSYS_83C6103C&REV_01\00000001004CE00000

2. Unknown Device - Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System. ACPI\AMD33D6\2&DABA3FF&1

Thanks for your help!

Hi, @thrashette

You need these drivers for those devices...

VEN_10EC&DEV_522A

This package contains the driver that enables the Realtek Card Reader in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The card reader enables users to read from or write to supported removable storage cards, which are typically used in digital cameras, digital music players, and cellular phones.

ACPI\AMD33D6:

This package contains the driver that enables the AMD Virtual Buttons to be used with supported notebook models that are running a supported operation system. AMD Virtual Buttons software allows the virtual buttons to adjust correctly when the screen rotation of the tablet is changed after the system is connected to or disconnected from the docking base.

@thrashette

I'm guessing you created the Win10 media from Microsoft, right?  And when you use that, you overwrite all the HP drivers with generic drivers provided by MS.  So what happened is what is expect to happen.

Had you checked here before you charged into this, I could have told you how to save off your HP drivers so now, in a few minutes, you could have them all back and NOT have driver issues.

Here is the drivers page for your model: https://support.hp.com/sk-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-15m-bq100-x360-convertible-pc/16851057/mode...

But, if the ones you need are not shown there, then they were embedded into the HP OEM install -- which you erased by doing your own reinstall of Windows.  In that case, you would most likely have to create HP Recovery Media to do a complete factory reset of your PC -- as that then would be the only way to get the drivers back.

Yeah, this is the first PC I've had in over a decade that I didn't build myself, so I assumed all of the drivers I need would be available on the website like it would be for component manufacturers. The laptop would not boot to the HP Recovery disk I made, possibly because the hard drive was audibly failing, so I had to use the Windows Media Creation Tool on another PC and install to a new drive.

I installed those drivers, and now the unknown devices have been identified. Thank you!!
