Pavilion g6
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Been trying to restore back to factory. Did it once before and. now there is a missing partition. Don't fully understand what a partition is but, never the less, i have looked up videos and made efi partitions check chfdk and run SRP i think that's what they're called. not luck with recovering missing partition. Maybe I'm doing something wrong or. missing something? please if anyone can help. Thanks in advance.

Did you upgrade/downgrade your machine ? If you upgraded your machine from Windows 7 to Windows 8/8.1 the Recovery partition won't work or has been removed.

it has been since 2014 that ive been trying to restore this computer. im sure it had windows 8 to start and i upgrade to 8.1. i hbave restored the laptop once but since then... no such luck. is there anything i can do to fix this? or do i have to purchase different software?

Now, please use the following way

1. Download Windows 8.1 ISO from the following link

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows8ISO

2. Use ISO file to install Windows 8.1.  During the installation process if you are asked to enter a product key, check the 'Skip' box and W8.1 will install and then automatically activate once you are connected to the internet using the key embedded in BIOS of your machine.

3. Then you can install the drivers and available software you need from your PC's support page. Normally few Windows 8.1 updates can install nearly all drivers for you.

Any missing drivers, please post back with FULL model/product of your machine (not just G6).

Regards.
