HP Notebook 11 gen Intel i5 8gb ram. Purchased 10-28-23. This is a user error. I had loaded Norton Utilities on laptop. I was uninstalling some un-needed software using Norton's uninstall process because using Control panel was unable to do so. This worked. I next, from within Nortons as I was selecting another program to uninstall, clicking right on it, the list of programs updated and all of the items moved up the screen back filling the empty spot. This resulted in deleting the recovery section. I panicked. I pulled the plug. Battery dang it. I used the power button. The results I can no longer reset the device. Message is "Could not find the recovery environment". There is no reinstall windows option. I next contacted HP. Case # [Personal Information Removed]. I was referred to HP SmartFriend Services [Personal Information Removed]. They are sending me back to HP. So I decided maybe I could just upgrade from Win 11 Home to Pro. However it fails stating I am missing an app. It does not identify which app. I also tried downloading the Windows Media Creation tool but about half way through it states there is a network problem and stops. Tried again, same results. My goal is to have a fully functioning copy of Windows 11 (would like to upgrade to Pro) and a working recovery file. I see online that there are even thumb drive options but those links lead elsewhere.
