Hi @dileesh,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To address slow boot times, application lag/freezes, and high CPU/disk usage on your HP Pavilion Gaming laptop, try the steps shared below.

1. Optimize Startup Programs:

Identify and Disable:

Too many programs starting with Windows can significantly slow down boot times and overall performance. Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), go to the "Startup" tab, and disable unnecessary programs.

Restart:

After making changes, restart your computer to see if the boot time improves.

2. Update Drivers:

  • Outdated Drivers: Ensure your drivers, especially for graphics and network adapters, are up-to-date. Visit HP's official website and download the latest drivers for your laptop model.
  • HP Support Assistant: Use the HP Support Assistant to automatically find and install updates.

3. Clean Up Disk Space:

Disk Cleanup:

Run the built-in Disk Cleanup tool to remove temporary files, system cache, and other unnecessary files.

Defragmentation:

If you have a traditional hard drive (not an SSD), defragment it to improve performance.

Free Up Space:

Ensure you have enough free space on your hard drive, especially the drive where Windows is installed (C: drive).

If you still face an issue, please try the rest of the steps shared in the HP link.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
