The power light keeps blinking with 5 second intervals, even though everything has been reset of the new battery and new Ram. And the laptop keeps doing this and I can't even enter bios. And this is a issue and it has a lot of files on it, so please help.  The laptop is a Hp15-EF0023 D X with AMD ryzen 5 and radion graphcs.

Your HP 15-ef0023dx with AMD Ryzen 5 and Radeon Graphics is experiencing issues where the power light blinks at 5-second intervals and you cannot enter the BIOS. Here are some steps to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:

 

Verify Power Source:

  • Ensure that the power adapter is functioning properly. Test the adapter with another HP laptop if possible.
  • Check the power port on the laptop for any damage or debris.

Inspect Battery:

  • Remove the battery and try to power on the laptop with the AC adapter alone.
  • Verify that the battery is correctly installed and that it is not overheated.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Disconnect all external devices (keyboard, mouse, printer, etc.).
  • Unplug the AC adapter.
  • Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to drain residual power from the laptop.
  • Reconnect the AC adapter and try to power on the laptop.

Reseat Internal Components:

  • Remove and reseat the RAM modules.
  • Ensure all cables and connectors inside the laptop are securely attached.
  • Reseat the storage device (SSD or HDD).

HP Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) tool to run diagnostic tests on the hardware.
  • To start the diagnostics:
    1. Turn on or restart the laptop and quickly press the esc key.
    2. Press F2 to access the diagnostic tools menu.
    3. Run system tests to check for hardware functionality.

Status Lights and Blinking Codes:

  • The blinking lights can indicate specific error codes related to hardware failures.
  • The sequence of blinks can represent the device or system component that is encountering issues.
