Get into windows safe mode and run the windows repair tools

That is a driver problem, probably cause by a windows update, or less likely: file corruption.

You need to boot into safe mode to fix the problem.
Click here to see how to start your system in safe mode, or read official HP advice.

Bring up the Windows Device Manager and look for errors
Sometimes you can just delete the defective device and reboot to have Windows find the correct one.
If Windows put the wrong one in then you need to roll back the driver to the previous one.
You can also run SFC or DISM to fix file corruption while in safe mode.

SFC and DISM are both tools that scan and repair corrupted system files. However, SFC uses a cached version of the files, while DISM uses the internet to download and fix the files.

Try the SFC first and if that gives a message that it cannot fix the problem then try the DISM tool.

Let me know what you find out.
