- Window's Safe Mode: Rolling back or uninstalling a problem ...
You installed an update and some devices are no longer working.
You need to either uninstall the update or alternately roll back the device driver to an older one that was working before.
Have you run diagnostics? Make sure your hardware is working OK before attempting a repair of Windows.
Tap the ESC key after powering on. Tap it once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. When you see the startup menu, press F2 to invoke UEFI diagnostics. If a component fails during the UEFI test then Click here to check warranty and Click here for world-wide contact info
If you cannot start Windows normally, then bring up Windows in it's Safe Mode.
How to start windows in Safe Mode
1. Either uninstall the problem update or even better just fix the device.
|
Select the driver that has the yellow warning. Click it to find an updated version or just delete it and reboot to let Windows find one.
If Windows cannot find a better driver then it is likely the driver is not the correct one.
2. Rollback the driver that the Device Managers shows as failing or is the wrong one.
If you tried the above and you were unable to get into Window's Safe Mode then try booting a USB that has Window 10 or 11.
Do NOT install Windows, just boot it up and select the repair option.
Use an 8gb flash drive and download the win11 ISO Multilanguage edition.
|
Then Advanced => Troubleshoot => Startup Settings => Safe mode
|
Once you get into safe mode then bring up the device manager and rollback the video driver
