My problem with this Laptop--- As initially this laptop had window vista premium installed and was working well. In Dec-2015 , the hard drive of this laptop crashed and in remedy, the local seller of my laptop, Shakti Infoteck, changed the hard drive. Resulting which, the pre installed window vista premium OS did not work. So the seller installed in my laptop-- window 7, which is certainly not genuine OS giving me several problems like OS supported software do not run well and so many. So please help me in such a way that my original vista premium or any OS is installed on my laptop.

You can also try Windows 8.1 or 10 - but there is no guarantee they will work on your PC as it is a bit old and there are no drivers officially available for it.
It is recommended that you create a back up of most important files and you may want to try either of these:
** WIn 8.1 - Microsoft offers 90 day free evaluation copy - Enterprise edition >> https://www.microsoft.com/en-GB/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-8-1-enterprise
** Win 10 - Microsoft offers 90 day free evaluation copy - Enterprise edition >>https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-10-enterprise
Microsoft account will be needed (free) to download the ISO images. All that is needed from you is to register with Microsoft account, download the ISO image and burn it on a blank DVD
or write it on a USB.
Here is an example (example is with Ubuntu but works the same way with the Windows ISO)
* How to create bootable ISO on USB device >> http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows
or
* How to write ISO to DVD >> http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/burn-a-dvd-on-windows
Eventually, boot the PC from Windows 8.1or 10 installation media
Follow the on-screen instructions to install it. Erase all your existing partitions and install on a new unallocated space
After successful installation, ensure your drivers are updates using the Device Manager method -> https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03330139
Update all major componets and run Windows Update.
You can test for about 90 days before you decide if you want to purchase a license from somewhere and reinstall a full version. If they do not work well, it would be best to purchase a new PC.
Hope this helps. Provide your feedback and let me know if you face difficulties.

Hello @MUKTESHWAR
Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting and for the detailed description from you.
Unfortunately, your computer is a bit old (produced long time ago) and also Vista is no longer supported by Microsoft - support for Vista ended last month.
In order to restore the PC to factory default condition and to restore Vista you will need HP original recovery medial. HP does not provide recovery media for such an old model and some may be provided by 3rd party companies.... but I was unable to find any available for your PC model.
If the operating system installed at the moment is not legitimate/original, it is best to remove it for security and legal reasons.
Your might try either Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 on your PC - both are too new for your PC and also not officially supported but you have no other chance. Alternatively, you can buy a new PC. Let me know if you are willing to try Windows 8.1 or 10 and I will provide you with specific instructions.
