I sent in my laptop in early may for a minor crack on the plastic on the side where the ports are, and the dvd door was wobbling a bit. It is under extended warranty until 7/6/2021. I sent it in the first week of May and a rep even called asked what the issues were and asked if the windows needed to be reinstalled for any reason would that be ok and I said yes but windows is working fine. He powered it on and said there is a girl on the here I said yes that is my daughter, he said I will get this repaired and estimate it will be sent back around the 12th. 3 weeks went by I called 3 times every week and they said they couldn't locate my laptop and that someone would get back to me. Finally someone called and said that it would cost to much to repair and I said it is under warranty she said that didn't matter. I got it back and noticed a plastic chunk broken off where the crack was and the dvd door would not open or close and was hanging part way out. I turned it on and there was no operating system and said system failure, I called and explained everything to a rep and said I know it was working while it was in for repair because the fella that called me turned it on and saw my daughters picture he said put me on hold for a total of an hour and came back on and said I spoke to a few people and we will get this back in and have it repaired since it was damaged in our possession. I just got an email and I was told it will not be repaire

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

Hi, I was just informed that they are going to send my computer back, Should I ask them to keep so someone can evaluate the damage that was done while they were supposed to repair it.

So I suppose damaging customers computers during repair is common occurrence with HP from articles I have read on HP Community and throughout the internet. I just wonder how this company can get away with destroying someone's perfectly fine working computer and not even offer a replacement. My computer was under extended warranty they make seem like you are lying about the issues but in my case there is proof my laptop worked fine from the beginning because the tech called me and powering on my laptop and commented on my daughters picture on the home screen.  I have the date, time and phone number he called my from still in my phone but still no one will even think about reaching out to that tech to learn the truth unless, he is possibly the on who damaged it. It literally looked as if my laptop was drop kicked and hit a wall. Thank you HP for taking a perfectly fine working 3 year old $700. computer away from my daughter before her first year at college in the fall. Oh I was offered $125. off a new computer though. What a racket.
