Solved!

My laptop won’t let me log on. It says incorrect password even though I know it is correct.

HP Laptop, model 14-bp070sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi, my laptop won’t let me log on. I know the password I am typing is correct but it says incorrect password on the log in screen. I have also reset my windows 10 password and tried to log in again with the new password, it still won’t work. I don’t mind resetting my laptop and deleting my files if I can back up the documents I have on my laptop but I didn’t make a recovery disc before it broke so I’m not sure how I can save my files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@Raeesa

Since you can't login, you can't do a file backup from inside Windows.  But that you CAN do, if you have access to another PC, is follow the instructions below to create a boot USB stick that you can then use to boot your PC, and you can then use the file manager tool on that stick to back of the files to another USB stick.

If your PC can not boot into Windows, a way around that is to follow the instructions below to create boot media from Macrium Reflect (MR) that can be used to boot your PC even if the hard drive is not working:
1) Download and install Macrium Reflect (MR) from this link: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
2) Use the option to create a boot USB stick or CD

That will create MR bootable media. Then, you can boot your PC into WinPE using that media.

Have patience, as that can take a while to start and bring up the screen.

Once the screen is there, read this thread about u
