HP OMEN 15-Ax200 CTO Laptop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After I installed my M.2 SSD and cloned my HDD to it I began to re download my apps, I checked my System configurations and realized that my windows was now some weird Chinese names (first being Aunt xin and second called broad mind) https://gyazo.com/226bf2ce0930344cbbcbee54e446f476   (link of boot). I'm not sure what it is and am not sure if I should be worried about this, does anyone have any insight about this? I tried googling it and found only one link that was related to my situation https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/gixt1b/windows_boot_manager/frrp1rn/

Also I while cloning my M.2 SSD i used a software called ISumsoft Cloning to do it since the big names (Acronis and Macrium) wouldn't work but this one did, is that app unsafe and could it be the cause of this or was windows always like this and I'm worrying too much?

Hi

It is not normal.

Why not just perform a clean install of the OS and start off with a fresh system.

You can create a USB drive directly from Microsoft and then use to perform a clean install

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

you can then let it completely update and find the necessary drivers and install any missing ones from here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-15-ax200-laptop-pc-series/13810162

or you could create a USB drive with the HP cloud recovery tool and use it to reinstall the OS, drivers, and all.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Or you could let us know what kind of problems you are facing with the more "commercial" cloning software

Hope it helps,

David

Sounds suspicious, I have not had any issues using Acronis or EaseUS Todo Backup. What brand name is your M.2 SSD?

If it was me, I would re-clone my new drive with a different piece of software. This one you used, I have never heard of. That is my 2 cents.

I'm using a Crucial MX500 1TB 3D NAND M.2 Type 2280 Internal SSD

A decent SSD.  Best advise would be to follow lomare's recommendation and do a clean install.

I have used HP's cloud restore function and found that downloading the Software, onto a Flash Drive so that I can use it as often as needed, was very easy and surprisingly quick. My Internet is fast so it was quick. Reinstalling a fresh copy should clear up your issue.  Shout out to lomare for the sound advise.

Should I try doing a factory reset first to solve the problem? And if that doesn't fix it should I then wipe my SSD and get a USB to re-download windows?

HP Recommended

I would recommend that you do a clean install like lomare suggested. That way you will have a clean copy without any 3rd party involvement. The cloning software you used might have malware, spyware or other viruses that will not get removed unless you do a clean install. Not as hard as you might think. Just time consuming but in the end you can be confident that you have a clean system.

HP Recommended

Yeah I guess so since I tried resetting it but it wouldn't let me since I don't have a recovery disk anymore, since the cloning wouldn't work if I tried cloning the recovery disk . How would i delete everything in my laptop and do the clean install?

HP Recommended

When you do the clean install it will format your drive before installing the Clean Copy.
