I checked into buying the recovery disc from the company in Kentucky . $32.00 delivered.

The guy named Michael who has all data for my laptop said the kit number was correct based om my serial number on my hp dv73065dx but he gave me no assurance it would work after I replace the hard drive. I guess it is the correct kit but I think he was affraid of telling me it would work because maybe something else might be wrong but based on what I told him about my hard drive crasing he did not want to say yes it will work if my only problem was my hard drive.

I guess I just got to trust the kit will work.

Any idea how the componies reputation is???

Thank you very much!!! 😉

I and other members have been recommending the company for several years. I'm sure the Tech guy just doesn't want to guarantee something will work because he isn't 100% sure it is only the hard drive. That is reasonable I suppose. With a computer nothing is for certain- only most likely.

I watched a few videos on my problem.

I started it and hit F 11  RIGHT AWAY.

Waited and had it do some checking and testing on it's on.

Then all of a sudden it is working just fine 100% again!!!

How do I know if my hard drive is going to crash as I thought that was the problem???

Any ideas and easy links to view would be a great help!!

Thank yopu very much!

If the hard drive is failing it will eventually crash again. While you are back up and running try to create Recovery Media. Read the document in the link below:

Is there any simple way to know the condition of my hard drive?

HP Recommended

Enter BIOS setup by tapping away on the F10 key immediately after powering on the laptop.Use Diagnostics to test your hard drive.

I do not care if I lose memory as long as the hp dv73065dx laptop keeps working. I know I will need to replace the hard drive but I am not educated enough to play around with f 10 and bios and have to reinstall posible thiongs. So what should I do?

Play it safe and if my screen goes blank again do the f 11  and keep it working till I have the money to change out the hard drive and buy the hp recovery discs??????

Also it came with a 500 mg hard drive..Should I buy a better hard drive??

Thank you,
