Hp Notebook 15-bw011dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. I just bought the Notebook and it has Windows 10 installed. I partitioned the hard drive and succefully installed a copy of windows 7 on the partition.. I wish to use it for old games that no longer work on Windows 10. The problem is drivers... the installed drivers on the computer do not apparently work with windows 7.. so it can not run games.

What can I do? There does not seem to be any drivers for this coputer except for windows 10

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to install the W7 chipset and graphics drivers directly from AMD.

First file listed on the webpage for both files.  Install and restart the PC.

https://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset/previous/detail?os=Windows%207%20-%2064&rev=17.40

https://support.amd.com/en-us/download/apu?os=Windows%207%20-%2064

If those don't get the graphics to work correctly, then your only option would be to reinstall W10 if you want the notebook to work right.

If you don't have the wifi and bluetooth drivers, these should work...

If I boot to the Windows 7 partition and install the drivers you are talking about, will they overwrite the windows 10 drivers? Windows 10 is on drive C:  Windows 7 is on a partition of the same physical drive but letter G:

So if I install drivers like you suggested only when I have booted to G: they should not effect the drivers on partition C; where W10 is correct?

HP Recommended

Download the drivers to your W7 installation and install them from there.

They will install on the W7 OS, not the W10 one.

Thanks again. One more question.. the AMD drivers you pointed me too..is that graphics only? I saw from microsoft I would need the following drivers..

At least that what they said I should install after I install windows 7.

I'll give you every driver you need after you install the two I posted and verify the graphics works fine.

I don't see the point in me going through all the trouble to post the links to all of the drivers right now if the graphics won't work.

Because if the graphics driver doesn't work, then you are dead in the water.

The two drivers I posted should install the motherboard drivers, including the USB3, storage and graphics.

You're very welcome.

OK...assuming you installed the WiFi and Bluetooth drivers I posted and they also worked, then here are the rest of the drivers you need...

Audio:  Accept the agreement.  Download and install the 2nd driver on the list and restart the PC.

Ethernet:   Download, unzip and run the setup application from the W7 driver at the link below...

SD card reader:  Download, unzip and run the setup application from the 1st file listed at the link below...

Touchpad/Mouse:

This package provides the driver that enables the Synaptics TouchPad in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The driver enables general touchpad functionality (for example double-tap and scroll) and provides a user interface.

If there happen to be any other devices remaining that need drivers after you install the above driver, please post the hardware ID's for those device(s) so I can figure out what drivers they need.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device...

Thanks. I am having trouble with some of the drivers. I am not sure which driver casued the problem, but after installing them all of a sudden the game would not work any more. I have reinstalled windows. again. INstalled the first 2 drivers. Then installed the bluetooth and network drivers. Those worked yesterday, but now the network one will not. However the game works and I am afraid to install any more drivers since I do not know which one will stop the game again.

I guess you can try the wifi driver I posted directly from Realtek.

If neither of them work now, unfortunately, I wouldn't know why that would be.
