Pavilion DV7T
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Upgraded from win 7 to 10. Work good for a year. Recent got inaccessible boot disk error. Got it checked. Hardware good.

Tech attempted new win 10 install but said laptop to old. They will not install win 7. Now up to me.

Looking through computer box and found

- System Recovery DVD Windows 7 recovery media, 2 disks. Also have Application and Driver Recovery DVD.
—— can i use this to install Windows 7?

- Windows XP

—— will this laptop handle XP?

Hi:

You should be able to use the recovery media you found.

XP:  You would need to know how to slipstream the storage controller drivers to get XP to install and then you would have to find XP drivers that would work for your model notebook.

Very hard to do.
