From the Microsoft-needs-to help-view, no I did not yet contact Microsoft.

We request that you perform the battery test and check:

HP Support Assistant Method:

Open the HP Support Assistant app pre-installed on your laptop. HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
 

  • Go to Fixes and Diagnostics.
     
  • Locate the Battery Check tool and click Launch to run an automated diagnostic test on your battery cells.
     

BIOS / Hardware Diagnostics UEFI Method:


Turn off your laptop completely.

  • Turn it on and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu opens.
  • Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics. HP PC Hardware Diagnostics | HP® Support
  • Navigate to Component Tests, select Power, and then choose Battery Test.
  • Click Run once to get an official pass or fail status.

Thank you for stepping in.

But you are mistaking my helpquestion.

 

Even so, these where the unjust result as the battery was /is broken:

I already did that with Deep_World .

For the results via HP Support Assistant, it unjustly showed "passed" no "battery calibration option".

For the results via BIOS/UEFI, see my post '‎08-01-2026 12:10 PM' at the bottom and me mentioning that it also unjustly showed "passed" and no "battery calibration option".

But forget the battery tests itself it is irrelevant for my question 😉

 

My real helpquestion was the following about battery alerts  (which is different from battery health status):

For my specific needs I would need it to make a 'sound' too (similar to critical battery noise if possible) and notify on the low end (20% when the powercord is unplugged) and on the high end (80% when the powercord is plugged). The control panel options are way insufficient for my needs (I need more options). Could you make an adjusted full .bat script for this too please ?

 

I am running Windows 11 on a HP 470 G7 Notebook PC and need to avoid third party apps as well as VBS in itself (as Windows is going to push that out I read somewhere).

 

A full solution would be greatly appreciated!

A. Adding on to my earlier message - as requested by you - the following:

  1. Yes, when I am working I go into hyperfocus so for every alert I would need BOTH a popup screen AND an audible alert that stays until I click it away // also I do move away from the workspace from time to time so  all chances of noticing it need to be optimized:
    1. when it reaches 20% battery when running on battery power 
    2. when it reaches 80% battery while charging via AC adapter powersupply
    3. If I change my mind later, I can alter those 20 and 80 % values in the *.bat file myself

...

 

2. As of now -  just being logged on is sufficient enough // being in the sign-in screen has little impact for me as residing in that welcome-zone takes less than half a minute and I'm guessing (but I might be wrong as I don't know what is possible) that environment can't generate same centerlocated big visual popup aspect of the request (not the small cornered tray type of stuff)

So I did contact HP Support via their chatsystem to know when the BIOS of the HP 470 G7 Notebook PC will implent the 80% capping? All they could tell me was the lateste BIOS Insyde F.78 does not have the option of HP Battery Health Manager. They would send in this suggestion though, as well as the option for the user to change this by themselves between a sweetspot value of 55 to 80% (indeed not higer). Lower values could be even more batterysaving especially when in a homebound setup such as mine, it is run as a desktop. But I need to point out the chance that they will implement this is pretty low, because Insyde BIOS is a third-party BIOS, as this specific type of laptop is a hybrid laptop (with some features of the business models, but not actually a business model which has a HP in-hous BIOS)...

 

In the meantime I used Google AI to help with a temporary quick fix, as it works with Task Scheduler and is set to a 5 minute checkup over and over again, the values of catching low and high will differ everytime as the inbetween (dis)charge time will elapse differently as well depending on the tasks handeled by the laptop in the meantime.  You can change or tweak at will, I marked the values of down and up in "bold orange".
