My new HP laptop has someone else sign on. It’s asking for a password which I don’t have.

If your computer has someone else's login on it,

The computer is not a new-sealed-in-Box computer from HP.

 

Possibly a return --

Some sellers just put returns back in the box and then back on the shelf to sell to someone else.

Not very nice, but it does happen.

 

If you purchased the computer believing it is "new", 

If you can do so -- and want to -- 

Consider returning it.

 

Consider purchasing a new computer from the HP Store -

HP doesn't sell computers with other people's accounts on the computer.
