You need a new hard drive. Example>HERE
You can get your Maintenance & Service Guide> HERE
After installing the new hard drive boot with your first Recovery Disc to reinstall Windows. If he didn't burn a Recovery Disc set you can use a set from his brother's same model laptop. If you need instructions on burning the set read> HERE

CONTROL+ALT+DELETE WORKS!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT SHORT TIP.
I started my computer today and got the message, no hard disk f30 whatever...I thought my hard drive is toasted so I googled a few things. I ended up pressing random button and got the the screen that said no bootable device insert boot disc and press any key error. I saw the message and pressed control+al+delete and it works!!!

I Face exact Problem As You Guys Did.
Firstly i Went To every Website but no info.
So, Do This
Insert your Window Installation Disk.
Click on start up repair
New Window will Appear saying, Searching For problems, Attempting To Repair.
If You are patient You Will Have to wait until it Said complete And restart your Computer Now.
After You restart it Should work.
My Laptop is macbookpro And now I Finally Fix It Without Any Errors.
