You need a new hard drive. Example>HERE

You can get your Maintenance & Service Guide> HERE

After installing the new hard drive boot with your first Recovery Disc to reinstall Windows. If he didn't burn a Recovery Disc set you can use a set from his brother's same model laptop. If you need instructions on burning the set read> HERE

CONTROL+ALT+DELETE WORKS!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT SHORT TIP.

I started my computer today and got the message, no hard disk f30 whatever...I thought my hard drive is toasted so I googled a few things.  I ended up pressing random button and got the the screen that said no bootable device insert boot disc and press any key error.  I saw the message and pressed control+al+delete and it works!!!

Great tip! Saved me 🙂 now how do I prevent this from happening again. I've had this laptop for 2 years compared to my 5 years old, it's a lot less durable.
