While the update may have happened at the time the update ran, a hard drive failure probably was not caused by the update. If the update was fairly large or ran for an extended time with heavy hard drive activity, that is probably what caused the hard drive failure.
Your explanation is not entirely clear on what you did but it would seem that you did not install anything on the new hard drive. That is why "insert boot disk" came up. You need to install Windows 10 as new hardware does not have any software installed on it. That is also why F11 did not work. It needs the Recovery Partition to call the Recovery software.
If that model can use the HP Cloud Recovery Tool, it will make the media to get the PC back to normal.

Since your hard drive is empty, scroll down to step 2

Thanks for your help OG, FYI the old drive if I connected with the Sata it feel running. I decided to replace it just to make sure I didn't spend a lot of time and I wanted an ssd because is hdd. But you are right it took very long time to update,it was still updating when I reconnected/tested with the Sata aid. But still works. Thanks again OG.

I understand "FYI the old drive if I connected with the Sata it feel running" That might be the case but it could still be failed.
The HP Cloud Recovery Tool can be used to install the software to the new SSD, too. Or the regular Windows 10 media can be used. Whichever you prefer.
If you need the install media for Windows 10, you can make it from this Microsoft download
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
With a working PC, scroll down to the "Using the tool to create installation media"
and then follow the directions. You can make either the DVD or USB. Use this new media to install Windows 10.
When the install asks for the product key, click the "I don't have a product key" option to continue,
then the install will continue. It will be activated once it connects to the internet, as it uses a digital key.

The Boot Device Not Found Error, or most commonly said Hard Disk 3F0 error is generally occurs when hard disk does not support the system boot process. It mainly happens due to incorrect boot sequence, damaged MBR or boot sector, hard drive connection issue, malware attack, corrupt drive partition or damaged hard drive.
Further, to fix Boot Device Not Found error, you can try the below methods:
- Perform Hard Reset
- Reset BIOS default settings
- Reset Hard Drive
Hope it helps!
