For the past 3-4 days, when I connect my Samsung S21 to my laptop, I am only getting the battery recharging and no longer have the ability to connect and transfer files. Have tried different USB ports, cables and even phones, so I have isolated the problem to the OS or laptop. I have gone through all the suggested troubleshooting steps and have tried reinstalling MTP. But I still cannot see files when connected via USB.

Hi @CurtDevoir,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I understand that you are experiencing difficulties transferring files. I'd like to help!
what version of Android is on your mobile phone?
Have you tried transferring files via Bluetooth? However, USB would be best suitable for file transfer. Which you have already tried.
Try and check if any latest updates/drivers for your Samsung phone and install them.
Also, try updating the Bios on your pc and windows updates.
For bios update click here and install and once done check if that works. Keep me posted if any errors.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Android Version 12
I have been able to connect via bluetooth, but need USB connection. This phone will connect to other laptops running Windows 11. This had previously worked and then all of the sudden it does not allow file transfers. The PC does charge the phone when it is connected, just no ability to transfer files.
BIOS & Drivers all all showing as latest & current
