Hello,

I need to make a complete reset of my computer to have factory new computer.  But I don't have a disc or a USB sitck to do it.  Is it a solution for that, cause it's not possible to get any help from HP ?

You would probably have no detailed knowledge of what damage your friend did to the PC, including what files they corrupted or deleted -- and with a virus, those could have been anything.

You said you tried HP Recovery -- but did you try the Cloud Recovery option?

You can make a bootable USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool on a working PC.

The recovery drive can then be used to install Win10 and the HP drivers and utilities that originally came with your PC.

You should start by telling us WHY you feel you need to do this -- as there may be alternatives.

Thank You for your response.

I lend my computer to a friend, and apparently he made mistake with it, had a virus and delete some [important] files.

After that, my windows became instable, and is very slow, like 4-5 minutes to open a program.  I try to made a recovery with the HP program, but not possible.  I try every possibilty but nothing works as apparently the 😧 with the recovery files is damaged.

I try to download a Windows iso, so I give my windows Key, but as it is an Windows sold with the computer, they told me to ask HP.  Of course the computer is too old to have a warranty, and I'm completely blocked.

I don't find it normal to didn't get a minimum support of HP or to have a link to have the change to reinstall the the recovery files

Thank You WAWood,

I ddin't know that solution, and it's not on the HP support board !!

I read you message too late, in between I completely made a new installation of my Windows on the laptop.  I just haven't a recovery option from HP anymore, but it's not important.  I just have to download all the drivers, but that's not so difficult.  After that, I will back-up everything and voila that will be good.

Thank you for your time, and your solution will surely help others users with the same kind of problem
