Hola. I recently installed Windows 7 64 bit on a 15-r005la laptop. And as I see, a lot of people have the same problem. No usb ports. I went to HP support and downloaded all the drivers I could find. No help. I installed an ran HP Support assistant and ran system diagnostics. Got told no drivers are available. Searched Windows updates. Same answer. Anyone have any ideas? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

Hola and thanks again Paul! You must be the man for driver problems. I should have gone to you first before spending so much time trying to fix it myself. The usb ports work fine now. Only thing not working at this time is the sd slot. Is that considered a usb port? Or something else. When my son was using it he said it stopped working and he'd have to reload the system to fix it. Which he never did. So it might be a hardware problem. Otherwise, thanks again.

You're very welcome.
Yes, I like to help folks with driver issues.
Did you install the SD card reader driver?
That would be the only suggestion I can offer regarding the SD card reader not working...
