I updated my windows but I think it got corrupted. Now, when I try to boot the windows, it shows this message "The selected boot device failed, press enter to continue". I searched in the internet and found a solution, where I use hp bios bios updater and then windows boots. But now I need to do it everytime I open my laptop.
It can't be hardware issue, as I am able to boot when I update the bios. Please help.

So, you are being forced to redo the BIOS update every time you boot?
You should NOT have forced the BIOS update and since you have done that, you are likely NOW to be stuck.

Can't answer your question -- as Windows has nothing whatsoever to do with the BIOS version or not being able to boot.
If the BIOS is OK, then reinstalling Windows will recreate the boot records -- and you then would be able to boot OK.
But if the BIOS is bad, reinstalling Windows will be a lot of work for nothing.

Whenver you are doing Windows Update, you must ensure that the laptop will not turn off, hibernate, or go to sleep.
Since you did not do that, it looks like Windows Update failed to complete, and that leaves your PC in a corrupted state that is really very hard to recovery from.
These problems were reported with KB4532693 back in February of 2020, and more recently, with KB4556799. Unfortunately, this is NOT a new issue with Win10 Windows Updates.
First thing you need to do is see if you can restart in Safe mode -- by doing these steps: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2304-boot-into-safe-mode-windows-10-a.html
If you don't know how to start using Advanced Startup Options, then read this: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2294-boot-advanced-startup-options-windows-10-a.html
Then, follow these steps to reset Windows Update: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/24742-reset-windows-update-windows-10-a.html
If these work, when you finally reboot, you should then be able to login to a working Windows desktop.
