HP ScanJet Pro 3000 s4 Sheet-feed Scanner
The scanner drivers for HP Laser Jet Tank MFP 2606sdw and HP Scan Jet Pro 3000s4 are not working with my new Laptop having Windows 11.  Even certified technicians from Hewlett Packard have been unsuccessful in installing any update/patch to make them work.

Does this mean that we have to stop buying HP products as they are not compatible with
Windows 11?

Please let me know ASAP and thank you.

Hi @rvenugopal,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

We understand your concern, especially after assistance was already attempted. Both the HP ScanJet Pro 3000 s4 and HP LaserJet Tank MFP 2606sdw have official HP software and driver resources available for Windows 11.

Please try installing each device separately:

HP ScanJet Pro 3000 s4

  1. Disconnect the scanner’s USB cable from the laptop.
  2. Open the HP ScanJet Pro 3000 s4 Sheet-feed Scanner Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.
  3. Select Windows 11 and the correct Windows version.
  4. Download and install the available scanner software and driver.
  5. Connect the USB cable only when the installer prompts you, and then restart the laptop.

The official driver page specifically lists Windows 11 as an available operating system for this scanner.

HP LaserJet Tank MFP 2606sdw

  1. Disconnect any USB cable from the printer.
  2. Open the HP LaserJet Tank MFP 2602-2606 Printer series Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.
  3. Select Windows 11 if the website detects a different operating system.
  4. Install the recommended HP app or the available full/basic driver supporting print and scan.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect the printer by USB, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi.

HP’s driver page provides the HP app, Universal Scan Driver, firmware, and full/basic print-and-scan software for this model.

Before installing, temporarily disconnect from any VPN and make sure all current Windows updates are installed. Install and test one device before proceeding with the other.

If the issue continues, please provide:

  • The complete error displayed during installation or scanning
  • Whether each device uses USB, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet
  • Whether Windows Device Manager detects the scanner and printer
  • The Windows 11 edition and version
  • Whether printing from the LaserJet works and only scanning fails

These details will help us identify whether the issue is with device detection, driver installation, or the scanning application.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
