My OMEN 15-5002nx failed.
Removed the 512G SSD.
Want to install this 512G SSD with WIN8.1 in the 2nd SSD position on an OMEN 15-ek0002nx which will have 1TB SSD in the 1st SSD slot.
Will I be able to boot the WIN8.1 on the 2nd SSD slot?
If boot from normal 1st SSD slot, will I be able to use the unused storage on the 2nd SSD slot?
Hope the HP community can answer my questions.
Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Mike

The simple answer is yes -- provided you can go into the UEFI/BIOS settings and change the boot order of the drives.
If you can't do that, then consider using a utility known as EasyBCD which will allow you to create an OS selection menu that will list all the OSs installed in your PC and allow you select which one you want: https://neosmart.net/EasyBCD/
