Hello,

 

I extended my C drive's partition forcefully to upgrade to windows 10 from an iso file ...then after restarting i'm facing the problem  "An Operating System was not found.Please remove external usage storage........" 

i tried to boot from Boot menu option pressing F9 while restarting,but no solution encounters! I also tried to boot from EFI file,but not happening because of no options found there.

The HDD is also okay, checked it from the BIOS settings option.

Now what to do??

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

I read your post about Operating System Not found since the failed Win10 Upgrade and wanted to help.

One of to things happened during the Upgrade:

1) It mostly completed but failed in writing the new boot loader files

2) It failed early into the Upgrade, trashing your PC as a result

 

Lets deal with 1) first -- by recreating the boot loader files.

 

You will need access to a working PC for this step in order to create the media needed to repair your PC boot loader.

Once you have that, please download and create Win10 install media from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10

Note that when you go do download and build install media, the tool defaults to matching what is already installed on your PC (as in, Home for Home, 64-bit for 64-bit).  While you CAN change these settings, do NOT. If you do, the resulting media will be different and will force you to enter a NEW product code!

Boot from the media you created, and follow the directions in this link: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2294-advanced-startup-options-boot-windows-10-a.html

You will need to go to the Advanced Options screen and click on Startup Repair.  You will probably have to run Startup Repair three times for it to fix all the boot loader problems.

When done, your PC should boot OK.

 

If that does not work, then we're on to option 2) -- which is not good news.

 

While Microsoft tells you that there is no risk in the Win10 Upgrade, because they let you believe that you can always revert back to your original OS and setup within 30 days, the ugly fact of the matter is that the Win10 GoBack function has proven to be unreliable -- and when it fails, it can leave machines in a corrupted state -- which doesn't always happen, but it does happen often enough to be a problem and you won't get any warning in advance that it is going to trash your PC!

If that is not bad enough, the Win10 Upgrade is know, in some cases, to corrupt the Recovery partition stored there by the OEM that built the original machine.  This pretty much guarantees that no HP Recovery is going to work.

 

What will work is restoring your machine to its original factory condition using HP Recovery Media.

This is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities. In some cases, you may be able to order a USB stick instead of disks.  You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded.

You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, input your Product name or number. On your Software and Drivers Download page, select your Operating System and and Version. Click "Update".  If HP Recovery Media is available for your machine, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for Order Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click the "+" symbol to expand that entty and click on Order Media for details.

Can i ask for little more help?

i can't change my boot menu options like they are pre-fixed ...now i am not able to change the UEFI option from secure boot option.

 

now what would you suggest me to do?
