Need to repair corrupted BIOS. After Windows 10 update, got stop code ACPI BIOS blue screen error. Running HP 15Z-AB100 notebook, windows 10 64 bit, AMD A10-8700P Radeon R6 processor, American Megatrends F.45 BIOS, product number K8Y44AV.
WIN +B appears to update BIOS, and even says "BIOS recovery complete." However, after rebooting says "preparing automatic repair", then loops back to ACPI BIOS blue screen error. Diagnostics show all hardware functional.
Softpedia shows two versions of BIOS that might work. One is F.50, and the other is F.90
I've never updated BIOS from a USB stick before, and was hoping one of you knowledgeable experts might take a look at the links below to confirm that I have the correct BIOS. Should I use F.50 or F.90? I am currently using F.45 Thanks!!!

Here are the HP links to the correct BIOS.
Unfortunately, updating the BIOS will not resolve the problem.
I don't know what happened out there, but some Windows update trashed a bunch of HP notebooks with the AMD processor and chipset series your notebook comes with.
Please see this discussion:

If you can't update the BIOS in Windows, watch these videos for how to create and use a BIOS recovery flash drive with the above exe file using another Windows PC:

Is there any way you can get into Windows such as in safe mode, uninstall the Windows update, restart the PC and then update the BIOS?
Just a suggestion.

Paul, Thanks very much for the reply. I wish I could enter safe mode, but I have to get past BIOS first.
Is it possible that the F.90 version has something that can work around this issue? I am not getting the battery error messages that another user mentioned. All my hardware is ok.
Should I try the F.54 first, then the F.90?

You're very welcome.
F.90 is for the 15-ab notebooks that come with Intel processors and chipsets and would not work for your notebook.

OK:
Another forum member fixed the issue by simply turning off the TPM device in the BIOS.
