Hard drive died. Replaced hard drive. Tried to load from recovery discs made on the computer a few years ago. Computer loads from dvd drive. HP recovery manager window opens and says "the system recovery media does not support this computer. You are unable to restore this system with the media." Therre are also some numbers which co-incide with the model number on the machine. The only thing changed is the hard drive. The original was an Hitachi and the new one a Toshiba. Same size, rpm, etc. Thank you for any help that can be provided.

Hi:
Can you still read all 25 characters of the W7 Home Premium product key on your notebook's case?
If so, I can give you a link to download the W7 Home Premium ISO file and you can make a bootable installation flash drive and clean install W7 using the product key on your notebook's case.

You're very welcome.
Here is the link to the W7 Home Premium 64 bit English ISO file.
The link will be good for 24 hours from the time of this reply.
Use the free Rufus utility to create a bootable USB installation flash drive which will transfer the ISO file to the drive so that it is bootable.
Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way
After W7 has completed installing you can install the drivers and available software from the support page.
