Hi there,
I had provided you with the drivers to show you what is available for you and your Notebook aside from Windows XP as Windows XP is no longer supported and drivers are not available. I also provided the drivers page for Windows 7 on your HP 1000-1b10AU Notebook PC because I wanted you to have access to the updated drivers. Some of the drivers available there were updated between April and May.
I had suggested that you reinstall Windows 7 on the Notebook. Here is a document called Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 7) for you and the options that it suggests;
"Your computer might have three types of System Recovery available, or it might have only two. Use the recovery type that resolves your issue without making more changes than necessary.
System Recovery: This option reformats the system drive (usually C:), reinstalls the original operating system, and reinstalls all the original hardware drivers and software. System \Recovery does not impact user created partitions. If there are two hard drives, System Recovery modifies only the drive with the operating system.
WARNING: If the size of the OS partition (usually C:) was reduced below a minimum size requirement, other user created partitions will be removed and stored data will be destroyed.
Factory Reset: Factory Reset removes all partitions, reformats the entire hard drive, reinstalls the original operating system, and reinstalls all the original hardware drivers and software. This option also recreates the required Recovery partition (usually D:) and UEFI partition (usually E:) and reinstalls the required software.
The Factory Reset option returns all of the notebook's software to the condition it was in at the time of purchase. All user changes or additions are removed.
Minimized Image Recovery: Available on many of HP's notebook computers, the Minimized Image Recovery removes all partitions, reformats the entire hard drive, reinstalls the original operating system and hardware drivers, and reinstalls HP essential software (such as HP Support Assistant and HP Recovery Manager). Minimized Image Recovery does not reinstall the trial applications and games."
Please let me know which one you decide to perform and how reloading Windows 7 goes for you.
Have a great weekend!
Thanks!

Hi there @hp1000-1b10au,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great site for information and questions.
Downgrading could be challenging. Here is a link so you can understand your downgrade rights. When downgrading, the lowest Operating System you could use effectively would be Windows 7. There is no longer drivers or support available for Windows XP.
You can find the drivers that are available (for certain Operating Systems) at the HP 1000-1b10AU Notebook PC Software and Driver Downloads Page. It is already set to show you the driver's available for Windows 7.
I would suggest reloading the Windows 7 version that you purchased from Microsoft again. After you have reloaded Windows 7, please do all of your updates. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating with Windows 7.
Thanks for being a part of the HP community. Please let me know if this helps resolve the issue by marking this post as "Accept as Solution". I want to say you that I always keep my pc updated. One months back when I was having Windows 7, I had all the latest drivers, softwares,regularly updated windows using Windows update. But, then also I was having the problems. So, I think the problem is not due to drivers update or any update....
Thanks
